Francesca Pompei (Roma 1978) laureata in filosofia, frequenta le scuole di fotografia del Comune di Roma. Nel 2004 partecipa al volume Per le strade di Roma e l'Associated Press Agency la sceglie per uno stage. In seguito lavora per Azimut Immagini ed è assistente di studio in campagne pubblicitarie per Sony e Nissan. Free-lance al Festival del Cinema di Locarno e alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, dal 2007 è collaboratrice dell'agenzia Prospettive in servizi ed esclusive per Raifiction e Raicinema. Finalista nella sezione industriale al Grand Prix di architettura 2008, è la vincitrice del primo concorso Viaggi di Architettura nel mondo e di quello per la copertina del TuttoCittà 2008 e Tuttocittà 2009 di Roma. E' inoltre un autore segnalato dall'Associazione Italiana Fotografi Professionisti nel Premio per la qualità creativa in fotografia professionale 2008 . Dal 2009 è membro dell’agenzia Ladif e della Tau Visual, Associazione Italiana Fotografi Professionisti. Scelta dal MUSAE, Museo Urbano Sperimentale d’Arte Emergente, partecipa a diverse tappe del circuito di eventi in Italia e in Europa. Nel 2011 viene presentato presso la Sala Conferenze dei Musei Vaticani il volume Le 100 Fontane (99+1) del Vaticano, Volume I - Fontane nei Viali e nel Bosco, pp.308, Città del Vaticano 2010, di cui è autrice di tutte le immagini. Dal volume è tratta una mostra in esclusiva per la Galleria Paolo Antonacci a via del Babuino a Roma. All'evento partecipano alte cariche del Governatorato Vaticano, la Dott. ssa Alberta Campitelli, storica dell'arte, Dirigente Beni Culturali della Sovraintendenza del Comune di Roma e Direttore della U.O. Ville e Parchi Storici, Dino Gasperini, Assessore alla Cultura e allo Sport del Comune di Roma e personalità del mondo dell'arte. Ha pubblicato su Il Giornale dell’Arte e su Abitare la Terra, rivista diretta dell’architetto Paolo Portoghesi . Ha esposto in Italia e all’estero e ha preso parte all’evento Expo Bologna nell’ambito di Arte Fiera Bologna 2012. Al momento sta lavorando al progetto fotografico per il secondo volume commissionato dallo Stato della Città del Vaticano, Le 100 Fontane (99+1) del Vaticano, Fontane nei Palazzi e nei Monumenti.

 
 

 

Francesca Pompei was born in Rome in 1978. Graduating in Philosophy, she attended photography courses organized by the Rome Municipality, later attracting the attention of the Associated Press Agency, whose managers invited her for an internship that she completed in 2004. Other trainee experience includes advertising campaigns for Sony and Nissan. She has freelanced for the Locarno and Venice Film Festivals and worked in collaboration with the Prospettive Agency for RAIcinema and RAIfiction location shoots. Francesca's work appears in Per le strade di Roma – a book that highlights Roman sites and character; her photographs have also been exhibited in various prestigious venues in Rome and featured in the Il Giornale dell'Architettura magazine. She was a finalist in competitions such as the Grand Prix Di Architettura 2008, and Massimo Tramonte 2008 and 2009. She won the first editions of Viaggi di Architettura nel mondo and of Tuttocittà Roma 2008 and 2009; and in 2008, she received honorable mention for creative process from the Italian Association of Professional Photographers. In 2009, Francesca became a member of the National Association of Professional Photographers of Italy and joined the Ladif Agency. She has recently been chosen to participate in the European circuit of MUSAE. In November 2010 she was the sole author of all the images Le 100 Fontane (99+1) del Vaticano, Volume I -Fontane nei Viali e nel Bosco (The 100 Fountains (99+1) of the Vatican State, Volume I- The fountains in the Boulevards and in the Wood) published for the Vatican City State. The book was presented at a special and private ceremony in the conference hall of the Vatican Museum in April 2011 and had an exclusive opening at the prestigious Paolo Antonacci Gallery in Via del Babuino, Rome. Participating at the event were speakers from the Vatican Governorate; Dr. Alberta Campitelli, art historian, director of the Cultural Heritage of the Supervision of the City of Rome and director of the U. O. Historical Villas and Parks; Dino Gasperini, Councillor for Sports and Cultural for the municipality of Rome and leading personalities in the world of art. Her works have been published on the magazine Abitare la Terrra (Dwelling on Earth) directed by the architect Paolo Portoghesi. She has featured in Expo Bologna during the event Arte Fiera Bologna 2012 and in several exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Currently, Francesca is working on the second volume of Le 100 Fontane (99+1) del Vaticano, Volume II- Fontane nei Palazzi e nei Monumenti (The 100 Fountains (99+1) of the Vatican State, Volume II- The fountains in the Palaces and in the Monuments), commissioned by the State of the Vatican City.
